Welcome to Episode 3. You are getting a new unit, an Explorer.
Hills, mountains, swamps and deserts may conceal valuable minerals. The Explorer prospects these areas, searching for minerals. Once minerals are located, the Builder can construct a mine.
In the early part of the game, the most important mineral resource to locate is iron ore. Processed iron (cast iron) is used by the Builder and the Engineer, and is also used to build military and naval units.
Later in the game, copper, tin, and coal will be important as well. Eventually, you will send an Explorer to prospect and explore in the New World.
